༄ The ones with Nature ༄
The forests of Elyiore once shimmered with light, their leaves whispering ancient melodies only the Elfin could truly hear. But as The Fading crept across the land, that music fell silent. Trees that had stood for centuries dulled to pale grey, and the living soil that nurtured the Elfin for generations grew cold beneath their feet. Bound to their homeland by deep ancestral ties, the Elfin struggled more than any race to depart. Leaving Elyiore was not merely abandoning a place it felt like severing a part of themselves. Yet as the decay spread and even the most ancient druids could not reverse it, the Elfin made a choice: to protect what remained of their legacy, no matter the cost.
At the heart of their exodus was the Mother Tree sapling, four to five feet tall, yet glowing with quiet life and the promise of renewal. Carried aboard their ships, it pulsed faintly with emerald light, as though sensing that its people depended on it more than ever.
When Alphos rose from the horizon, vibrant and untouched by corruption, the sapling’s glow intensified… a sign, the Elfin believed, that this land might one day become a new sanctuary. Upon landing, they chose a serene, fertile region where the sapling responded strongly to Umbria’s energy.
There, the Elfin founded Ishlian — their first foothold in Umbria, and the place where the Sister Tree would take root once more.
~ Lore Summary ~
The Elfin originate from the Old Land of Elyiore, a realm of ancient forests and deep spiritual connection to nature. The Fading disrupted the natural cycles that sustained both the land and its folk, causing widespread decay and the weakening of Elyiore’s magical essence. Reluctantly, the Elfin were forced to evacuate when all attempts to heal their homeland failed.
Central to their departure was safeguarding the cutting from the Mother Tree, the spiritual and cultural heart of their civilisation. A juvenile sapling capable of rapid growth and producing “sister trees” was brought across the sea to preserve Elfin identity, tradition, and continuity.
Upon reaching Alphos, the Elfin searched for land that resonated harmoniously with the sapling’s energy. The site they discovered became Ishlian, the first Elfin settlement in Umbria — a symbol of rebirth and the hope that the essence of Elyiore may flourish anew.
