The Realm of Elyiore
Homeland of the Elfin
Elyiore is the ancestral homeland of the Elfin, an ancient realm grown beneath endless canopies and silver rivers where cities were not built of stone but woven among living branches. It is a land of deep forests and sacred groves and the air itself carries a quiet calm gifted by the Mother Tree. Its woodland halls rose wardens, scholars, stewards and guardians
The Elyiore High Council
At the heart of Elyiore stands
the Mother Tree, and her High Council.
The realm is governed by the
Elyiore High Council, a gathering of respected Houses and appointed stewards sworn to protect the Mother Tree and guide the Elfin people. Leading the council is the
First Speaker, chosen from among its members to speak with the authority of the council itself. The First Speaker is:
- Voice of the Elyiore High Council
- Guardian of the Mother Tree
- Arbiter of stewards and Houses
- Speaker for the will of Elyiore
- Authority within Elyiore does not come from crown or conquest.
- It is granted through recognition, wisdom, and service to the realm.
- The High Council governs not for power, But for balance.

+ The Heartwood +
At the centre of Elyiore stands the Mother Tree the oldest living being known to the Elfin. Around her immense trunk the Elfin grew their capital, a living city known as
The Heartwood. Bridges of woven vine stretch between branches while halls are carved from wood beneath a vast emerald canopy. It is the spiritual and political centre of the Elfin people. Here the High Council gathers beneath the Mother Tree’s branches to guide the realm and appoint stewards to tend the groves of Elyiore.
The Heartwood stands as:
- Seat of the Elyiore High Council
- Sanctuary of the Mother Tree
- The living heart of Elfin civilisation
- No walls surround it.
- The forest itself is its shield.

+ The Districts of the Heartwood +
Though united as one people, the lives and callings of the Elfin shaped distinct traditions within Elyiore. These traditions form the three great districts of the Heartwood.
- The Canopy District
Home of the Wood Elfin
The Canopy District stretches high among the outer branches of the Heartwood where bridges, platforms, and hidden paths weave through the upper forest. Wood Elfin live closest to the wild forest and are most often found serving as wardens, scouts, and protectors of Elyiore’s borders. Their appearance often reflects their deep connection to the woodland around them.
Wood Elfin commonly possess:
- Skin tones ranging from warm bronze to deep woodland brown
- Hair colours of chestnut, mossy green, dark brown or autumn red
- Bright green, amber or hazel eyes
- Lean, athletic builds suited for climbing and silent movement
- Their clothing is often made from living fibres, leathers, and woven leaves designed to blend seamlessly into the forest canopy.
Wood Elfin culture values:
- Vigilance and patience
- Harmony with the living forest
- Quiet defence of the realm
- The Spire District
Home of the High Elfin
At the inner heights of the Heartwood rise elegant towers grown from living wood and crystal-veined bark. This is the Spire District, centre of scholarship, governance and ancient lore. High Elfin are often recognised by their refined features and dignified presence.
They commonly possess:
- Fair to pale golden skin tones
- Hair of silver, platinum, pale gold or deep midnight black
- Bright blue, violet, or silver-grey eyes
- Tall, slender builds with graceful posture
- Their clothing reflects their position within Elfin society, favouring flowing robes, embroidered garments, and elegant armour often adorned with silverleaf patterns.
High Elfin traditions are defined by:
- Wisdom and scholarship
- Diplomacy and law
- Preservation of Elfin knowledge
- Many members of the Elyiore High Council come from these traditions, though stewardship is granted by council vote rather than birth alone.
The Twilight District
Home of the Fadewrought
Deep within the shaded lower groves of the Heartwood lies the Twilight District. Here dwell many of the
Fadewrought Elfin who bear subtle marks of prolonged proximity to the Fading these changes are not seen as corruption nor curse, but as a quiet sign of endurance.
Fadewrought often display:
- Pale, ashen or cool-toned skin
- Hair of dark silver, charcoal black, deep blue, or muted white
- Eyes of silver, pale violet, or dim blue
- A calm yet distant presence often felt before spoken
- Their attire often reflects the tones of twilight and shadow, favouring dark fabrics, muted metals and layered garments
- The Fadewrought are often drawn toward understanding the Fading and the subtle changes within the Mother Tree.

+ Houses and Stewards of Elyiore +
Though ancient Houses exist across Elyiore, lineage alone does not grant authority. The High Council appoints
Stewards to govern groves, districts and settlements across the realm. Stewards are chosen for their wisdom, loyalty and devotion to the Mother Tree. Some come from ancient Houses others rise through service to Elyiore.
"Authority is granted not inherited
In Elyiore, stewardship is not rule"

The Present State of Elyiore
For countless generations Elyiore endured in calm and the Mother Tree stood strong. The High Council governed without fracture, the Wood Elfin guarded the forests, The High Elfin preserved knowledge and the Fadewrought listened where others could not. Yet even the oldest roots cannot stand forever, the Fading has begun to touch the Mother Tree herself and Her presence that was once felt across all Elyiore has grown faint. Faced with a future no Elfin had ever known, the High Council made a decision that would shape the fate of their people. Saplings of the Mother Tree were prepared and the Elfin began their journey toward
Alphos.
